Photographs make me smile, even photographing people makes me smile. The other day, my mother said that when I'm with the camera to photograph someone I smile, looking like I'm going to be photographed too. It is the joy of registering a moment that gives me this enchantment.
The smile identifies us, for the pleasure in doing what we like, for the blessings we conquer. A happy laugh can sometimes be “contagious”. I like to dawn and dress my soul with joy, stamping expressions on my face that intoxicate… the smile that soothes… illuminates… infecting the lightness of my being.
I like wide smiles, laughs that brighten our eyes, that express the joy of living… those spontaneous laughs, about laughing at yourself, “at the stories told by my sister-in-law” that “makes me die of laughter…”, and now even more of the loose… toothless laughs, which I'm living with!
It's so fascinating when simplicity infects us with the joy of laughter. This joy, when expressed in a child's laughter, takes us to the blossoming of his first expressions that will forever mark his relaxed and happy face, his amiability, contentment. “Slack smile”, so a friend told me, when she saw the first photo with my grandson Zion's smile.
This is the most beautiful smile of all my current days. I photograph him smiling. Grandma's loose toothless laugh, a really loose smile, the kind that widens your mouth and lets out the laugh of that beautiful thing that also makes you laugh. Smile of one who lives in dreams, without symphony or expected sounds, but special and enchanted that conveys everything that means you!
