The Influence of Planets on Youth and Maturity According to Anthroposophy

To carry out our mission here on Earth, we bring four main provisions:

  • Coming from the zodiac;
  • Of the planets;
  • Of the temperaments (choleric, sanguine, melancholic and phlegmatic);
  • Of heredity.

Then, other things will influence: the place where he was born, the race, the time, the language.

Today, we are going to focus a little on the influence of the planets on our predisposition and on how they act in each seven-year cycle (seven-year cycle). Further down you will also see how they influence maturity (from 63 years old).

The Planets and the Septenes

0 to 7 — Second: plays a fundamental role in determining our form and constitution, as well as bringing, during life, the forces of the past to the present.

7 to 14 — Mercury: acts with its beneficial and harmonizing influence. It is the period when we are (potentially) furthest from death.

14 to 21 — Venus: exerts an intense influence on the erotic sphere and on the ideals of the third period of seven years.

21 to 42 — Sun: particularly shape the development of our soul. This is the sphere from which humans get the power to assimilate past events and develop them. From this period on, we increasingly have the opportunity to walk towards the future and free ourselves from the past, in order to achieve the goals we have set ourselves in life.

42 to 49 — Mars: works on individuality.

49 to 56 — Jupiter: allows us to structure the course of our life with increasing wisdom.

56 to 63 - Saturn: allows us to look back on our lives, which leads us to adopt a questioning attitude: “Have we achieved our goals?”.

Planetary dispositions in adolescence

According to Gudrun Bukhard, who systematized anthroposophical biography in España, there are some planetary predispositions that appear in adolescence and that can serve as a guideline for choosing a profession.

'Martian' layout: Practical, active person; likes challenges. You can be a good entrepreneur, a sportsman.

'Saturn' layout: person who digs deeper into things. You have the qualities to be a researcher. You can be a philosopher, historian, archaeologist.

'Jupiterian' layout: It easily has the image of the whole. It is cheerful and jovial. You can be an entrepreneur, manager, political and strategic leader, organizer.

'Venusian' layout: Aesthetic, creative person. He likes to take care, so he can be a therapist. It may be linked to art.

'lunar' layout: Calm, passive person who likes to take care; reserved. You can be a cook, nutritionist, farmer. Likes to organize and collect.

'Solar' layout: It is a type where the other forces are in balance. “The Sun brings light (expression of wisdom), warmth (expression of love) and life (expression of creativity).” You can synthesize your thoughts well. You can do any activity where you use your creativity and your magnanimous heart.

The positive influence of the planets on maturity

After the age of 63, we begin to experience a “new childhood” and the planets begin to influence us in a new way. In fact, we cannot even call it “influence”, since, for anthroposophy, these are the so-called “free years”, and there is only a potential (depending on the inner work) for something to happen:

  • Moon: impulse to adopt a new lifestyle.
  • Mercury: healing forces introduce new vitality and longevity.
  • Venus: purified beauty, the glow of old age that comes with wisdom.
  • Mars: daring.
  • Jupiter: renewed creativity and a proud bearing.
  • Saturn: reverence for life and moral stature.

The negative influence of planets on maturity

If the inner work has not been done or if the person clings to the security of the past rather than the freedom of the future, these are the potential negative influences (shadows) of the planets:

  • Moon: superficiality.
  • Mercury: avarice and extreme concern for health.
  • Venus: extreme concern with appearance.
  • Mars: tendency to fight.
  • Jupiter: prey to fixed ideas and criticism.
  • Saturn: bad temper and pessimism.
