Natural Repellents

Natural Repellents

Even though industrial repellents are labeled as “antiallergic” and “tested”, we must be careful, as they are made from chemical compounds that are very harmful to human health.

While some people resist these compounds and show no symptoms, others manifest allergies, irritations and even serious problems.

For a pregnant woman, it is very risky to go through this type of situation. At the same time, they need to protect themselves against flies, mosquitoes, mosquitoes and all kinds of insects that can transmit diseases such as dengue, malaria and Zika.

Faced with this impasse, is there a solution? Fortunately, yes! There are some natural and nutritional alternatives to repel different types of insects, which are not harmful to the health of pregnant women. You can take one, two, or several measures at the same time, it all depends on your tolerance to tastes/odors and if you are allergic to any natural products (which is very common).

Some foods rich in vitamin B1 and sulfur help to repel insects. During the digestive process of these components, sulfur compounds are released from the surface of the skin, which produce an odor that repels insects.

For the natural repellent to work, it is necessary to consume the food for several days. Start including them in your next meal and ensure more protection for your body

Check out the list below:

– Dark green vegetables (broccoli, spinach, Brussels sprouts and other cabbages, horseradish leaves, lettuce, chicory, arugula, watercress, cabbage)

– Whole grains such as: brown rice (for pregnant women only organic or biodynamic), oats, quinoa

– Wheat and corn germ

– Barley sprouts

– Sunflower, sesame, pumpkin and hemp seeds

– Peanuts (as long as you don’t have any allergies, raw and unsalted)

– Brazil nuts

- Brewer's yeast

– Egg yolk (for pregnant women only organic eggs – free-range eggs)

– Liver (during pregnancy moderate consumption so as not to exceed vitamin A, which can be toxic)

– other foods such as: aloe vera, noni (the fruit of the count), bee pollen, blue and green algae, garlic, peppers, hot peppers, onions, radishes, spirulina.

For the body, some oils are interesting and can be used during pregnancy without worry:

– Andiroba oil

– Castor oil, common in the state of Tocantins

– Copaiba oil

– Rosemary oil

These oils can be used in two ways: dripping 6 to 8 drops in bath water or diluting the drops in your almond oil and applying directly to the body. Important: do not be exposed to the sun after applying the product.

In addition to consuming and applying it on the skin, you can use herbal pots in your home environments, such as: porch, backyards and
offices. They help with decoration and keep insects away by the odor of the leaves:

Invest in:

– Citronella plant

- Basil

- Rosemary

- Mint

– Lemongrass and lemongrass

– Lavender

Don't forget to use sand in the pots to avoid standing water. Also use citronella candles and cloves stuck in half oranges or lemons.
