Rose lassi, or delicious Indian soft drink

In general, in ayurvedic food, drinks should be consumed outside the main meals, especially if they are cold, because when the cold drink comes into contact with food in the process of digestion, it paralyzes the process, in addition to solidifying the fats, making digestion difficult.

Lassis are drinks of Indian origin and can be consumed in a sweet version - outside of main meals - or salty (butter milk) - after meals. In India, drinks have very refreshing characteristics, due to the excess heat. We are not referring to alcoholic beverages, but to the huge variety of refreshments made with all types of food available. These foods include herbs, cereals, fruits, vegetables, roots, whey, yogurt, and even spices. These drinks literally cool the body's thermal system, balancing pitta (body heat energy).
