New Germanic Medicine: relationship between body and mind

During the history of medicine, some scholars have pondered the hypothesis that diseases may have a mental or emotional cause. Currently, a new strand has emerged to study this relationship between the brain, mind and physical body, the โ€œnew Germanic medicineโ€.

These studies started with the German doctor Ryke Geerd Hamer and the new medicine became known in the 90's. The German doctor's proposal is to offer an alternative treatment to cure cancer. He developed his method from his own experience with the disease..

After the death of their son, Hamer and his wife suffered from the trauma of the loss, and after that episode, they were diagnosed with cancer. He had cancer of the testicles and his wife had cancer of the ovaries. The doctor thought that it could not be a coincidence that the disease appeared so soon after such a great trauma. From there, he conducted studies that indicate a mind-body relationship that can result in disease.

According to their studies, this process where the disease manifests itself in the body would start with some trauma that affects the person's mind. For example: someone who is going through serious financial problems and who can't express, talk about it with someone or solve the problem. The person would start to internalize the annoyance, which would be directed to some organ in their body.

What the German doctor defends is that by resolving this conflict, this trauma, the disease could regress and the person could be cured. It is at this point that traditional medicine comes into conflict with the new Germanic medicine. Scientists and doctors disagree with Hamer's method and have not found scientific evidence that this new treatment approach really works.

For us, it is worth knowing the new treatments that are emerging. However, it is always good to do a lot of research before taking the risk. If you are looking for alternative medicines, talk to a doctor and health experts to clear all your doubts. This article aims to show that new strands of studies and treatments are emerging, but the opinion of an expert will always be essential to better clarify.
