Ho´oponopono: know and practice

Ho'oponopono is a prayer, process or meditation of Hawaiian origin. It was conceived by Kahuna Lapa'au Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona (1913-1992).

The word “ho'o” means “cause” in Hawaiian, while “ponopono” means “perfection”. The term “ho'oponopono” can be translated as “correct a mistake” or “make it right”.

It is a practice that does not require many precepts, however it is powerful to purify the body and get rid of bad memories or feelings, which hold the mind in a negative tune.

Ho'o = "cause"

ponopono = "straighten", "fix", "change", "revise", "adjust", "correct", "order"

Behind every situation, every event and every encounter that takes place in life, a memory is kept. The purpose of Ho'oponopono is to release those memories that could potentially impose barriers in a person's life or be a source of pain and suffering.

The practice consists of four main phrases:

I'm sorry
Forgive me
Eu te amo
I'm grateful

The practice is simpler than we think. You can chant the four phrases as many times as you like, wherever you are. Everything we emanate, when it comes from the heart, is transmuted.

I often say that this practice can be done not only to release you from your past, but also to bless the present moment and purify future actions.

In the Insight Timer meditation app I recorded the entire Ho'oponopono prayer in a specific guided meditation. I leave the link for you to check and practice with me: https://insighttimer.com/giselli/guided-meditations/meditacao-oracao-hooponopono

The four phrases spoken in Ho'oponopono are not “destined” to someone or events that we would like to put out of memory. They are a message to ourselves. “I'm sorry for the memories I keep in me; I forgive myself for repeating them, even without conscience; I love myself for having them; I am grateful, because everything in life is learning.”

Experience this technique in your life! A more loving world begins to be real through our thoughts and actions.
