Don't know how much to eat? look at your hand

Have you ever thought about going on a diet where you don't have to go hours without eating, let alone stop eating some foods you love so much? Popularly known as the "diet of the hand", you can continue to eat everything you are used to, but in less quantity. Or rather, in the amount that fits inside your hands!

The North American website Guard Your Health carried out a survey citing the increase in portions that many countries, mainly western ones, acquired. According to the study, in the last 20 years, the portions consumed by the population have doubled. Faced with this uncontrolled increase in food intake and the increase in the number of obese people in the world, the hand diet emerges as a healthy and simpler alternative to be put into practice.

The fact is that the size of your hand is proportional to the size of your organs, so if you consume portions equivalent to it, you will not be lacking or leftovers of carbohydrates, proteins and everything you need for a healthy diet. To make it easier, below is the number x hands ratio:

    1. Carbohydrate servings such as pasta, rice, potato etc. should be fist-sized.

    2. Be careful with fats, such as butter, as they cannot go past the tip of your index finger.

    3. For cheeses, the ideal amount is equivalent to two fingers.

    4. The ice cream getaway should be no more than the size of a closed fist.

    5. Vegetables can be eaten in a slightly larger portion. The ideal amount is in the palm of both hands (as if they were a container).

    6. Meats should be proportionate to the size of an open palm.

    7. The closed fist indicates the amount of fruit you can consume

    8. Finally, each finger of your hand indicates a meal of the day. Breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner.

It is important to respect the five daily meals to control a balanced diet.
