Ever heard of Ayurvedic teas? They are traditional teas made with different herbs and spices that bring immense health benefits. In Ayurvedic medicine, teas and infusions are of crucial importance for the maintenance of general health, well-being and vitality. The right kind of Ayurvedic tea can help balance the doshas and detoxify and purify the body.
In today's article, I share three Ayurvedic tea recipes, with combined spices and ideas for every time of day.

morning tea
- 1 teaspoon dried mint leaves
- 1 teaspoon dried lemon zest
- 2 slices of fresh ginger

The mint, lemon and extra dose of ginger energize and warm the body from within and give the infusion a fruity flavor. Great to start the day right!
Evening tea
- ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 cardamom berry or ¼ teaspoon powdered cardamom
- 3 slices of fresh ginger
- 2 carnations
- A pinch of black pepper

These spices help digestion and reduce gas formation, especially after lunch. Drink several cups throughout the afternoon!

tea for night
- ½ teaspoon of fennel seeds
- 1 teaspoon dried orange peel
- 1 teaspoon dried lemon balm leaves
- 1 teaspoon dried lavender flowers

Fennel, orange peels, lemon balm and lavender are an excellent combination to take before bed, as they soothe the senses and prepare you for a great night's sleep!
Preparation for all recipes
Crush all the spices in a grinder and add two cups of water. Boil everything for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain and serve!
