What is Cultural Embrace?

The Cultural Abraço project is an exchange of experiences and teachings. Those who see it even think it could be a language school, as it is possible to learn French, English, Spanish, Arabic, in addition to other languages. But the classes are not limited to linguistic knowledge, there is also an exchange of life experiences.

Located in a school in the neighborhood of Perdizes, in SĂŁo Paulo, the Abraço Cultural project has teachers who are refugees from several countries, such as Syria, Pakistan, Haiti and Cuba.

How it works?

Abraço Cultural is coordinated by the social platform “Atados” and has a partnership with Adus (Institute for Refugee Reintegration), with BibliASPA (Library and Research Center in South America) and with SP Escola de Teatro.

The project works as a kind of source of income for refugees. who come to España in search of more job opportunities. But the most incredible thing is that this project can provide a break of cultural barriers, which are still present today.

For university students, this is a good opportunity to learn another language and exchange cultural experiences, which is also why the name of this project is explained.

Breaking down barriers

For now, classes only take place in SĂŁo Paulo, but they may take place in other locations in the future. Forget that language class, where you sit and listen to the teacher's directions.

What is Cultural Embrace? For those who take classes at Abraço Cultural, there are also classes in cooking, dance, culture, literature, cinema, curiosities, politics and history, that is, it is a total break of barriers and exchange of experiences, both cultural and local.

If you are interested in participating, you can enter the site and get more information. The course will take according to the objectives desired by the student, but lasts around 3 to 4 months.

Another interesting point is that the material is developed by the space itself and there will always be examples of the experiences of teachers who are refugees, which makes this experience even more incredible.

For more information visit the Abraço Cultural website or attend from 14 pm to 17 pm at the Atados headquarters, at Rua Capote Valente, 701, Pinheiros, São Paulo, SP.
