My body, my mirror, my rules

No, this is not a text about you being able to go out on the street with the clothes you want, after all, obvious things like this don't need to be restated. Our big question today is: the standards of beauty that we ourselves must create.

Fashion is something that all women enjoy, many love to follow trends, and others follow to simply be out of the norm. The big problem surrounding the word “standard” in the fashion world is the bodies of women who appear dictating the catwalks and advertisements over the years. Even though plus size fashion is gaining its space, we still want to have the body of those thin women. We know we must accept ourselves, but we still want that body. And when we manage to accept ourselves, we still wonder if we shouldn't be wanting those bodies.

My body, my mirror, my rules

Thanks to common sense, diversity has been more discussed and better accepted, but unfortunately our well-being is only discussed internally, and to make things even more difficult, women are fans of self-sabotage. The mirror of a woman's soul and physical world is often a trap with no escape. As much as we have moments of self-love, if the mood fluctuates a little, it seems that at the same time we put on sunglasses and our world gets darker. Whoever was thinking “wow, how funny I am”, starts thinking “wow, how stupid I am”, whoever thought “wow, how hot I am”, starts thinking “wow, I look like a whale”. It's beautiful to say that we should love each other 100% of the time, but in practice this is very difficult. Mainly because we don't live alone, and mainly because our reflection in the mirror is marked by a past that brings the dictatorship of the slender body and not the beloved body.

In this way, our only escape is to destroy the current mirror and carve a new one. with our molds, our measurements and our rules, a mirror that can reflect the woman we are: beautiful, intelligent, loved and hot. After all, personally speaking, I will always prefer those women who prefer a Nutella pizza over a granola bar.
