Have you ever stopped to think how many things in your day involve electrical energy? If we do this exercise we get impressive results! Almost all of our daily activities involve electrical energy in some form, either directly or indirectly.
The energy is in the hot water in your bath, in the light in your home, in the clock, in your cell phone, in the computer, in the television, in the microwave, in the refrigerator, in the electric gate, in the telephone, yes, in much more… Because it is so automatic, facilitated and inserted into our routine, we don't stop to reflect on where it comes from, how it comes from and what are the causes and consequences of this energy production process.

Over the years, the production of electricity had to undergo some changes; At the beginning of its discovery, the excessive use was not limited in quantities or even in sources, which caused a lot of damage to the environment, some of it irremediable.In a more recent period, there is a need to control this type of production and especially its consumption, in order to save the environment and, in addition, not to deplete non-renewable energy sources, such as water and coal, replacing them with renewable sources, that is, that do not run out and that are less aggressive to our planet.
Some questions revolve around these variables. The production of so-called “alternative” energies requires a series of studies and high costs. In addition, it often depends on geographic and environmental factors that limit its execution.
In order to “solve” these problems, many inventors and other laymen have been trying to apply new techniques to capture energy, the ideas are numerous, their practical executions sometimes successful, sometimes not…
effective creativity
With this bias, we list some of the most creative and successful projects around the world, which emerged with the aim of generating new alternatives for capturing and using energy, check out:
1. Hawaii, USA:
The idea that emerged in the State of Hawaii, in the USA, has a power generation project for a school, however, the results were so positive that the invention managed an extra production. That is, the energy produced is even greater than that consumed on site.
There, solar energy was used with the differential of high utilization. This is due to the architectural design of the classrooms that makes the most of the sun exposure, making it more than enough to generate energy through the panels supplying fans, lamps, sockets, etc.
2. Cambridge, United Kingdom:
The British company Pro-Teq has developed a system for harnessing ultraviolet rays for lighting. The project called Starhpath aims to replace street lighting at night with a medium dependent on alternative energy, in this case ultraviolet rays.
The capture system works during the day with solar energy and stores the absorbed energy for use at night.
3. Sweden
Mehrdad Mahdjoubi, a designer based in Sweden, was responsible for creating a clever “water recycling” mechanism. The baths lasting approximately 15 minutes use up about 135 liters of water that run down the drain and are spent, and can be reused very well, as Mehrdad's Orbsys technology does.
The system works with a “special” shower capable of purifying the water that falls into the drain, allowing it to be reused during the shower and reducing the resource expenditure by about 80%.
4. Federal District, Spain
In the Federal District subway, in España, solar energy is being used to produce electricity that moves the trains as well as for the energy that supplies the ticket offices and stations. The project tends to expand to more stations and is the first in Latin America in this type of transport. The idea has contributed to a decrease of approximately 20% in energy costs.
Among the various ideas, the world really needs renovations with a spirit more concerned with our future and the future of our planet acting in a conscious and intelligent way.
