Goals: a double-edged sword

When the end of the year comes, many promise a new life and set goals for themselves, ranging from losing weight, changing jobs, enjoying life more, that is, most promising significant changes in our daily lives. The problem is that this ambition only lasts in the beginning and soon the person abandons the goals set and returns to what he was the year before. So the year has changed, but we're still the same.

Worse than not being able to change something is trying to do something to change it and not being able to. When we set a goal, many are let down when they fail to achieve it. And the problem is that this supposed failure is not always the person's fault, there are other factors beyond their reach to achieve the expected result. So when a person writes on a board what he wants to achieve, but he can't, what should remind him to move on will serve to bring him down and brood over something he hasn't achieved.

    Goals: a double-edged sword

The first thing we need to keep in mind when setting a goal is whether it is within our reach and whether it depends solely on our efforts. And yet, many unforeseen events can come your way and hinder the achievement of the objective. Therefore, as much as something depends on you and is well planned, chance must always be considered.

When properly preparing for chance, the possibility of the goal not being achieved must be considered. The reason for this is not so that we do not believe in success, but that we have a very realistic foundation of what can happen and, consequently, do not get frustrated.

A frustrated goal can get in the way of the realization of many other dreams. and the loss of the ability to trust oneself to overcome obstacles. In the same way that a goal must be taken seriously, it cannot be overestimated either, because it is something that can happen, therefore, something not yet real. Many people fail to enjoy the good things in life because they put the goal above all else. It's not like that either. Everything in life requires balance and serenity, and the same goes for goals.
