    Excessive expectations, busy routines and nostalgia for times that will not return are frequent and quite present in the life of modern man. The excess of sensations often causes us to detach ourselves from the present and miss daily chances to transform our lives forever. While the anxiety is diagnosed as a “too much future” and depression is “excessive past”, almost all of us have at least insignificant traces of these two pathologies. Depression and anxiety are great evils of the XNUMXst century and the main responsible for taking our focus away from the present.



    Although in practice it is not easy, it is essential to train our mind so that it does not lose its direction to the current moment. Past fears and future daydreams are not forbidden, after all, they are also defense mechanisms for the present. A person aware of yesterday's teachings and with a definite plan for tomorrow is impacted in the present, but in a positive way.

    The worst way to live in the present is to regret missed opportunities and unlived good experiences. On the other hand, bad memories and hurts from the past gain space in our minds.

    About the past, what has passed, whether good or bad, has literally passed and should not occupy a greater space in our minds than mere memories that brought teachings. Thoughts about the future should be restricted to planning, goals and objectives, after all, they are just dreams that may or may not happen and, mainly, that will depend on a series of factors, many of which have nothing to do with us.

    Apart from these situations, all our efforts must be directed to the present. Only the current moment can be transformed. Don't put off until tomorrow what you want to do today. The biggest impediments to not doing what we want are ourselves. Adversity is common in all lives, but it's up to us to get around them. Apart from death, everything is ok. What we just need is, guided by the teachings of the past and planning for the future, to keep our focus and strengths in the present moment.
