Do you take/accept your family even at Christmas?!

We all know that Christmas is traditionally a time to gather the family, but there are different ways to gather. There is family gatherings that are purely out of obligation: “I would rather stay at home alone, but my mother said I have to spend Christmas at my grandparents' house”, “I want to be with my friends, but I have to spend Christmas with those annoying cousins”, “The same recipes as other Christmases. Those clueless relatives who voted for candidate X, that stranded aunt or even that uncle who drinks all of them… And I'm going to have to spend a few hours with them?”.

And there are the open heart meetings, fully accepted. Even if it is not yet your reality this holiday season, or there are still other encounters besides Christmas, intend and act in accordance with your desire for full acceptance. “I'm going to spend Christmas with my parents, happy as hell, even though I know they will repeat the same stories from their childhood”, “My mother is so happy to see us eating those same recipes that are a family tradition, they are the only ones she knows how to make, but she does it with so much love”, “Even those relatives who voted for candidates X, Y or Z , I will practice love, I will be respectful to all of them”.

If you accept the fact that you "have to" spend Christmas at your grandparents' house, acceptance makes the time more enjoyable. But the non-acceptance where a part of you doesn't want to go, another part knows it needs to go, you are divided, then you weaken. But when you stop making the opposite force and start using your force in favor of facts, you are strengthened by taking/accepting. He lives intensely the reality to which he belongs at that moment, becoming a more pleasant company for family and friends.

Without presumption, accept what you are and as you are, accept your family members in your heart as they are, after all, Christmas is the celebration of birth, it's life, it's love. AND you were born into this family, your life needs to be lived to the full. In the family constellation, Bert Hellinger says that children should take life, just as their parents gave it.

May you be reborn to love! Merry Christmas!
