Dermatologist-approved Low/No Poo Technique

When we talk about hair, many people present “infallible” techniques and methods to better treat the wires and get the perfect hair. In practice, we know that it is not that easy, and that each type of hair must be treated in a different way to be healthier. Now, after so many products tested countless times on the most different hair strands, the novelty that is gaining fans is the technique low poo and in the poo.

Low Poo is an abbreviation in English for Low Shampoo, which means little shampoo. And No Poo is short for No Shampoo, which means no shampoo. As the name implies, these are ways to take care of your hair using little or no shampoo. But don't think that means going without washing your hair. It's a little more work than that.

    Dermatologist-approved Low/No Poo Technique

In the case of Low Poo are only used products that do not contain some substances found in common shampoos. That is, you will need to buy a shampoo for this type of treatment. What happens is that some substances such as Sodium Sulfate, Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Lauryl Sultate and Petrolatum, remove the lipid protection of the scalp, which causes the body to produce more fat in the place and thus leaving the oilier hair. In the case of Petrolatum, the substance “clogs” the wires over time, which prevents them from absorbing nutrients.

The No Poo technique does not use any type of shampoo, that is, it only uses conditioners without insoluble silicones and without the substances mentioned above. In both techniques, one of the consequences is that the hair becomes less oily and thus may not need to be washed, decreasing its frequency over time.

Many adepts of these new techniques have expressed themselves positively on the internet and the opinion of dermatologists has pleased them. However, if you are interested in adopting these new practices to take care of your hair, talk to a dermatologist first to see which option is best for you.
