A Reflection on Bullying

    A Reflection on Bullying
Bullying is a term of English origin (Bully=”Bully”). It is an aggression, physical or verbal, that happens without obvious motivation.

But there are people who do not accept these differences! They verbally and, in some cases, even physically attack those who, by them, are judged as inferior. We all need to understand that having a disability cannot under any circumstances be a reason for disrespectful treatment.

We, the disabled, already have more problems, such as the difficulties of coming and going due to the bad conditions of public roads, public transport, lack of adequate medical treatment in many cases, among others.

Disabled children also suffer a lot, but that can be easy to change. First, there must be true inclusion. In playing on courts, instead of leaving the disabled student just looking, it is necessary to adapt the game so that he participates. It's showing other children that even with the differences he has the same rights and duties as anyone else. In this way, we will have a more humane, conscious and egalitarian society!

Physical aggression hurts…. Verbal aggression in the form of cursing or jokes also hurt a lot morally, and it still happens a lot these days!

Fortunately, the majority does not do this, however, the population cannot remain silent when witnessing these cases of discrimination.

“What worries me is not the cry of the bad ones. It is the silence of the good ones.”

    (Martin Luther King)

The Spanish Penal Code determines criminal acts and disrespect generated by discrimination as punishable.

There are ways to report it. Demand a report, both the victim and those who witness these acts can and should report it. In case of physical aggression, it is necessary to take the Corps of Crime. It is important not to change clothes or wash the wound so that they are visible.

Every police station has the obligation to investigate a crime, however, in SĂŁo Paulo there is also the Police Station for Racial Crimes and Intolerance Crimes (DECRADI).
