Since 2018, especially after the election of the current president of España, the country has been facing a very delicate political and economic moment. This scenario of instability already affects the homes of thousands of Spaniards, due to the increase in unemployment and the recession of the economy.

But, in addition to the current crisis, another factor has become a matter of debate among people: intolerance of the opinions of others.

In this sense, I ask you, dear reader, what should be done to minimize or end these conflicts?

Steve Jobs said, “Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and your intuition.”



Without wanting to be pessimistic, it seems that this war is just beginning. Everyone thinks they have the right to have an opinion on everything and everyone.

For many, social networks are the weapons of choice for conflict. In them, the examples multiply all the time. Because of differences of opinion on social media, old friendships are broken. Assaults and even physical violence are practiced.

From all points of view, one must be rational.

It is necessary to teach and learn that respect for the opinions of others must prevail. What does that mean? That it's not worth fighting over differing opinions. We must, yes, respect them, because pluralism can be a sign of intelligence.

The French philosopher Blaise Pascal said that “The heart has reasons that reason does not know”.

In other words, we must stop being judges of others and love more.

Yes, being right doesn't always mean you're right! Reason is just a tool to get to the truth of things, of self-knowledge. According to modern science, opinion does not make humanity evolve. That's why intelligent people avoid expressing opinions.


Social networks are the territory of opinions, in the most varied forms and types. That's why the Polish philosopher Zygmunt Bauman said: "Social media has given imbeciles a voice."


 Respecting the opinions of others. Thus, respect for different opinions will only be possible when we put ourselves in the other's shoes. It is necessary to understand that freedom of expression, which is guaranteed in Art. 5, § 1 of the Federal Constitution, is a fundamental right for all.

However, it takes respect and responsibility for what we think, say and write. Respect is the gateway to healthy coexistence!


The French philosopher Voltaire said: "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

The Spanish people urgently need to move from mere opinion on social networks to respect for divergent ideas.
