We are very attached to matter. To material goods. We can't stand the idea of dying and leaving everything we accumulate during our lives in the hands of others, and when we accumulate more and more we say it is to be left to our children. Will it be?
On one occasion, in a mediumistic activity, a disembodied person who owned many lands was brought to us for clarification, and kept a substantial sum of gold in a large safe on one of his farms. The farmer spirit, although he no longer belonged to this life, remained clinging to the safe, trying to open it and refused to follow the path in spirituality, a situation that was difficult to resolve, since he did not believe he was without the physical body, and felt that he was if as if dreaming.
These situations are common to happen on the occasion of the passing, because unfortunately we are prepared to live and we forget that we have a time of validity. We always base our time here on Earth by the age of old people, and for most of our lives we don't prepare for the passing.
Most religious beliefs do not address life beyond the grave, informing followers that everything ends with death and that they will enter a deep sleep of rest until the final judgment. However, those who believe so are faced with a different reality.
Even now with this pandemic that can take us from one moment to the next, like other sudden diseases, we don't talk about what we should adopt from one moment to the next. Most complain about the distance, having to live with a mask and cleaning themselves constantly, but do not exchange information about being affected by the disease and having to separate from their possessions and loved ones in the blink of an eye.
Being cured of any disease has to do with merit. A disease that can be considered fatal always comes to change our way of looking at life. Sometimes we think we are good people for doing charities, distributing food, clothes, or giving money. This is the simplest charity for us to carry out and the rulers do it routinely, as they only depend on resources. There are other charities that are indeed meritorious, such as adopting a homeless child, caring for a sick person or treating an elderly person well. It is not enough to be charitable materially, we have to be in the way that Jesus taught.

A friendly word or good advice is also charity. Let us remember that Jesus always tried to bring a word of comfort and when he practiced healing, he always guided them not to sin anymore, that is, the sick person who managed to escape a serious illness should change their behavior. So it continues today, because the evangelization of Jesus has not changed.
