Reflecting on Points of View

With the era of holistic therapies and the discovery of a spirituality without dogma, but free and directed towards the good, the good and the beautiful, in search of peace and inner balance, from the understanding of the Truth and the search for expansion of conscience, countless people have become adept at the expression “point of view” to demonstrate that, in a society still full of prejudices and manipulation of personal beliefs, personal opinion has as much value as collective opinion, equating, without may be overlooked, ignored or diminished by the focus it establishes.

Respecting the other's point of view, seeing it as part of their reality of the world, from their history, their learning, in short, from their truth, puts us in a less conflicting situation and allows us to accept more easily that we are people with different views. This alone calms many conflicts and allows us to live more harmoniously with each other.

On the other hand, without proper care, self-observation and constant attention, the practice of “to each their own opinion” can put us in a selfish comfort zone, where we do not accept or at least make an effort to consider as valuable and valuable. other people's opinions and views are transformative for us. These opinions could put in check one or more limited visions of our reality and propel us to a new, more expanded level of consciousness, as well as climbing the steps of the evolutionary ladder.

As in human reality everything has more than one side or version, the expression “it’s just my point of view” has also become, under some analysis, a very comfortable way for people to get used to or even accommodate themselves to a limited way of thinking. seeing the world and understanding situations on new nuances, without the exercise of empathy, based on a conscious effort.

The objective of healthy debates of opposing opinions has never ceased to be fundamental for there to be balance and evolution of the individual worldview, precisely favoring the expansion of consciousness, which is what we seek so much. But to climb it, we need to consciously make an effort to understand when something is a limited and selfish worldview and when it is an expansive and liberating worldview, which shows us how much we can be wasting great opportunities for expand our point of view, from the moment we let our guard down. This is because part of the resistance that we can put up to look at the world with the eyes of others can represent an unconscious escape, in order to preserve beliefs and values that for a long time have protected us as mechanisms of social survival that we have developed since childhood by our ego.

The resistance to giving up our points of view is the focus of this text, dear reader. For those who deprive themselves of healthy debates, finding ways to end conversations due to their own resistance, or even pride in thinking that they may be in error, justifying having their own point of view and not giving up on it, refuses to reflect on the presentation of a “new truth” by the other and limits their own state of consciousness to expand, not only entering a comfort zone and self-boycott, but even entering an evolutionary inertia, depending on the level of resistance involved.
