Making Decisions: Love or Fear Defines the Choices We Make

Deciding is challenging and empowering at the same time. It is choosing, defining and establishing our own path, making choices that promote changes in our lives.

Each stage we experience brings rich learning to our development, making us have experiences and knowledge related to what we dedicate ourselves to and where we focus our attention.

An interesting fact about decision making is that there are two simple indicators that help us gain insight into what impacts our choices. These two indicators are love and fear.

Love is an energy that adds, that expands possibilities, that increases our creativity, that makes communication between minds and hearts flow. It is a powerful source of human warmth, solidarity and cooperation. Loving is an act that requires donation, courage and hope. Love builds trust, respect and affection. Having love as a reference for making decisions is a wise attitude.

Fear is a feeling of insecurity, helplessness and distrust. It is a feeling that generates the feeling of loneliness, as if it was not possible to trust people or count on anyone in difficult times. In the face of fear, we have the feeling of vulnerability, as it is as if something is constantly threatening us. Fear destroys our personal power and often distorts reality, limiting our ability to overcome.

Lack of protection, restlessness, anxiety, among other things, are related to fear.

But what is behind the fear? Why do some people get stuck in their journeys as a result of it? What is the real danger to which a particular fear relates?

Such questions are essential for us to realize the following: fear is not as scary as it seems.

Fear can be eliminated from our lives when we are able to access what it seeks to reveal about us. In fact, almost all fears reveal the same belief: scarcity.

We are afraid that something is missing for us. We are afraid of losing the people we love or of losing something that brings us a feeling of peace, stability and well-being.

The feeling of scarcity that fear represents destroys many promising dreams and possibilities. Scarcity will always point out worst-case scenarios and enslave our minds to pain and failure. Fear only breeds more fear. Scarcity only breeds more scarcity.

May love lead us to our best version, so that we can fulfill the purpose of our existence, contributing to a better world.
