Just a cup of coffee!

A daily habit every morning in the homes of thousands of Spaniards is our coffee, that little black basic, classic and simply strained. In addition, I appreciate many exquisite cafes decorated with their varied flavors.

Coffee awakens us to life, revives joy… the soul… it inspires, it tastes like visitors have arrived, it's the warmth of family, those moments accompanied by fried biscuits, cottage cheese, corn cake. This brings up childhood memories, of the coffee beans roasted on the wood stove by the great-grandmother Iaia Tulinha (I could even smell it) in those toasters with the crank turning non-stop and the strong smell that invaded the house... then I went to the mill... there was hot water on the last flame of the stove…then it went through the simple cloth strainer, what a delicious taste! Maybe that's why I love a cup of coffee so much.

The scent of memories from the countryside, of roasted, crushed, ground coffee, prepared with a lot of love, the smell of Dindinha's backyard, of dawn and dusk on the wood stove in the kitchen, of those times, of the memories we take with us for life…nostalgias.

Until today, at dawn or in the afternoon of every day, coffee is my favorite companion in the kitchen, I've even taught my 01 and a half year old grandson to appreciate this delicious little black. And how delicious it is after a day at the beach, when you arrive at the hotel and find that classic hot and very pleasant coffee to reinvigorate.

This seductive and wonderful little black man causes a damn good in our life. When I was traveling, those happy times before the pandemic, I had the privilege of visiting several coffee houses. I experienced a world of flavors that make this drink so special and unique. I tried delicious coffees: pure traditional, espresso, drips, cappuccinos, with whipped cream, bitters, smooth, intense, with ice cream, etc., but after a few days I already missed just one coffee, that traditional and simple coffee.

I enjoy going out to warm words in a coffee house tasting special cookies and cakes. Wow, how delicious all this is! Inspiration takes care of me in these houses that add immersion of flavors and refinement! Family coffee! I also experience it a lot. Ah, the coffees at Mainha's house are wonderful, the most exquisite coffee with delicacies, such as the cornmeal cake, the warm fluffy biscuit (recipes from Mainha and my grandmother Tonha) and tapioca with all the fillings we want, just her makes incomparable!

Coffee conquered not only my taste, but more than that, it made me put together a collection of mugs in a special corner of the coffee shop in the kitchen and each mug with its history is used with special care.

In these confined times, time passes, but we fill ourselves, as life has allowed, tasting our coffees. Coffees that unite us, wherever it is taken, it fills emptiness and tangled moments of experiences. Coffee from the market, the bakery, the greengrocer, freshly roasted, coffee that brings the smell of the countryside, from the countryside, coffee with brown sugar, brown sugar, bitter… love to taste, receive visitors (it is forbidden to leave the house without having a cup of coffee). Coffee in the cup, with something that we 'pinch', that we drink with pleasure and feel the energy that really contagious and steals happy hours telling stories, remembering memories of the good things we lived and experienced. Now, however, I'm going to the kitchen, because today I just want a cup of coffee!
