If your house was on fire, what would you save?

On several occasions, we are carried away by life situations that lead us to reflect on our conduct, on what we think, on what we are. Most of the time these situations arise unexpectedly, without a fax to communicate and prepare us for them. Without any prior notice. And so is life.

It's no use screaming, crying or despair, the situation comes, snatches you and moves on. We, in our emotional smallness, naivety and total unpreparedness, do not know how to act. We cry, yes, we also scream and despair for sure. After all, we are human, and drama is one of our great passions.

Life ignores this fact. Did it cost five days notice? Hence, when we are faced with reflective questions like this: β€œWhat if my house were on fire, what would I save?” we find drama.

If your house was on fire, what would you save?

The most obvious answer would be my family, children, the dog or, for the more rational, electronic devices and whatever is most valuable. But what if that fire wasn't in your house, it was inside you, inside, and you had to choose something inside. What would you save? Maybe, you say all your knowledge, everything you've learned so far – and it would definitely be useful. But until when? Knowing is important, however, it loses its reason without Being.

So, you can say that the best thing would be to save your memories. They are what make you who you are today, who you were once, and give you a direction for who you want to be in the future. Yes, memories are strong and special, a point of balance in our existence. However, would only the memories give you reasons to continue? After all, the fire extinguished everything inside, won't the memories just bring nostalgia, the desire to relive, to have what we lost? It's to think about!

So what to save? How about sentiments? Oh! Yes, feelings. They are the ones who lead the human being on his evolutionary journey: desire, fear, joy, anguish, arrogance, anger, hatred, pity, kindness and, among many others, love.

Nevertheless, I believe you would save only good feelings like joy, pity, kindness and love or maybe just love. But what about the bad ones? I would save everyone. That's right, everyone.

All feelings are us, they are part of what and who we are. Our yin and yang; black and white; high and low, we are that antagonist. It is not the other who complements us, it is us, precisely because of our oscillations, our opposing forces, which are so opposite, they complement each other.

We are a living circle of thoughts and feelings and each one of them is part of it.

The human being is like plants, we need fresh, crystalline, pure water and the radiant sun to illuminate us, to grow and flourish. But without fertilizer, which is made up of leftovers and fetid things, we don't grow stronger, we don't evolve more firmly. We need both. The good and the bad. Love and Hate. So are we.

It is because we do not understand this that we suffer so much. By not accepting what we are, we live in constant dissatisfaction and, sometimes, we lose the meaning of our existence, because when we accept what constitutes us and what is part of us, we can master our particularity and focus, to enjoy the best of each.

We must use bad feelings as propulsion and good feelings as direction.

And let's move on, because after you put out the (internal) fire, you'll have to start over with what you saved, and this new creation process is only about you.
