Find the balance between reason and emotion

    The biggest risk for a person to fail in life is not to harbor clearly pessimistic ideas or thoughts. The great danger of unhappiness is to feed pessimism disguised as prudence or negativism dressed up as rationality.

    As children, we fantasized about being heroes, of being able to defeat all the villains that try to destroy our world. The problem is that many of us as we grow up, not only do we bury our inner superhero, we assume the villain place of ourselves, destroying our own dreams, annihilating hopes and erasing infallible plans.



    And how do we do all this? Adopting pessimistic speeches disguised as prudence or even seeing only the negative side of everything, thinking they are being as rational as possible.

    Of course, being rational is essential for our survival, but it is necessary to find a balance between reason and emotion, as it is impossible (and even frustrating) to spend a lifetime just making use of reason, while keeping feelings in your pocket.

    That's because reason will want to understand everything that happens to you. However, life was not made to be understood, but lived with intensity, with daring and courage to be the protagonist of the story itself. And this is where feelings are essential.

    Without forgetting that, often, reason is not the best way to transform a situation that bothers you. Using rationality to find out who broke the window will not fix the window.

    So, go back to believing that plans, dreams, goals and relationships can work. Stop looking at the negative aspects and allow yourself to be happy, allow yourself to live your emotions, because good feelings are always loaded with optimism.


    And mainly, allow yourself to express your feelings, because sometimes you will only be able to understand what is inside your soul, when you are willing to put everything out. Expressing feelings will not weaken you, on the contrary, it will make you stronger, more confident, more secure about what is inside you, allowing you to reach a balance between reason and emotion.
