Belly Dance, Psychotherapy and the Rescue of the Feminine

Belly Dance, Psychotherapy and the Rescue of the Feminine
The feminine essence is a structure at risk. We are, day after day, losing sight of it. The passage of centuries, human evolution and, mainly, technological evolution, has taken us further and further away from our primary feminine essence.

In our ancestry, we lived and oriented ourselves according to the cycles of nature. For us women, the menstrual cycle and those of nature were closely linked. Everything revolved around her.

Spring, summer, autumn and winter. Full, waning, new and waxing moon. Everything in tune and, for such tune, we performed rituals that, punctuated for our Psyche, that we were part of this nature.

Today, neurosciences already know the importance of the symbolic figure for our emotional world. Our brain better recognizes what is visualized, through imagination or, concretely.

It is precisely at this point that belly dancing comes in, as a tool that helps in the processes of rescuing the feminine. In the office in psychotherapeutic sessions, we work the thought around this idea and, the dance materializes this rescue in the form of a ritual.

Linked to this fact that women have distanced themselves from their ancestral essence, the diseases of modernity, anxiety disorders, depression, premenstrual tension, etc.

As a psychologist, within the psychotherapy process of my clients, when this type of problem is diagnosed, I don't think twice about recommending belly dancing. The woman comes into contact with her body, rescuing her consciousness, through contact with her sacred curves, whether they are P, M, L or XL.

It is the ritual of the sacred feminine taking us back, as in a journey through time, to the center of our being, bringing us CURE!
