A poem for my father

    Father

Being able to understand you today makes me grow.

Perceiving you with the greatness of my spirit and not through the glasses of my worldly needs and my childhood weaknesses makes you better.

So fragile. So in need of shoes, dolls, guava, toys, to be happy, I didn't see what I had.

Realizing you today, through my journey in realizing that life demands us, trains us, pushes us, forces us, develops us, made me better. made you better.

I learned not to demand what you didn't have to give.

    A poem for my father

You gave me her life and maintenance, which is no small feat.

You gave me poetry and dreams, and that's no small feat.

I remember your poet's way, your poet's clothes, your smell, your look, your lap, your tear.

I remember myself in you and forgive you. And I forgive you.

And I am enchanted, and I find myself, because in the mother that I am, there is also the father I had.
