It has been proven that sadness can result in depression. But there are behaviors that are typical of those who are starting a process of depression without appearing sad, says the philosopher, psychoanalyst and specialist in studies of the human mind.

Not every depressed person is sad and an example of this is the friendly smiles that hide an inner desire to disappear. Check out the five behaviors that can hide the onset of depression.

1 – Overthinking

Questioning the meaning of life, deep conversations with oneself about life and death can be the innate thoughts of someone with a philosophical mind. But they can also be thoughts of a person in the depression stage looking for direction. Self-knowledge becomes necessary to identify whether these thoughts are natural or have happened.

Occupying the mind with many tasks, creating many activities, can be the behavior of an intellectual who takes pleasure in acquiring knowledge. But it can also be the mechanism used by the depressive to not think about internal dissatisfaction, occupying the mind with thoughts, dedicating too much to hobbies to escape suffering and anguish.

3 – Lack of patience

Anyone can lose their temper, but if this happens frequently, it can be a sign of the onset of depression. Depression does not always manifest itself with sadness and discouragement, and it can also be through continuous dissatisfaction.



4 – Irregular food and sleep

Difficulty in regular patterns to drain energy. Irregular sleep and eating is a search for pleasures and events that disguise dissatisfaction. Anxiety leads to these factors in the lack of completion of what one wants to conclude, resulting in a compulsiveness.

5 – Fear of abandonment

Difficulty in maintaining interpersonal relationships sustains a disguised smile in which joy does not match the dissatisfaction felt internally. In reality, the person feels heavy and unwanted and the smile is the formula to keep people close, as they are afraid of being helpless when they need support the most, but are ashamed to say and admit or are not fully aware of what they are suffering. . The most dangerous thing about depression is being aware of it when it becomes extremely harmful.
