Meetings, appointments, dates, demands, there are so many factors that put us further and further away from ourselves that we forget to understand and take care of this production machine that we have become.

Our attitudes are externalized for purposes far from our inner fulfillment and self-awareness is lost along the way.

But is it possible to know yourself better? Be aware of what you say and act, understanding your own body's reactions? Yea! Some specific steps and concentration can lead us to a state of full consciousness, in which the relationship of body and mind with human behavior is more intense and explored by its leading element: you.



How to get to full consciousness

It is not always possible to achieve what is called total awareness or self-knowledge, but small steps are able to make us live life not only functionally but also emotionally, intensely and pleasantly.

What philosophers classify as the “knowledge of experience” consists of living the stages of life in order to derive some knowledge from them without simply going through the events as chapters of a soap opera that one watches.

When you live on the surface, it becomes impossible to enjoy all the sensations that life has to offer. This means understanding what's going on, from small attitudes to small results.

For example, we work and work without thinking, only future stability matters, results, obligations, money. And now? What brings? Try to “experience” the moment, seek in the present all your learning and sensations, go deep into what seems simple and you will discover many other paths and pleasures.



See the inner world

The human mind is an immensity. The number of possibilities it can bring is immeasurable, creativity is capable of creating objects, moments, sensations and thoughts that, if not captured by moments of interiorization, go unnoticed and will never return.

A great way to capture these different sensations is to close your eyes and enjoy the opportunities that your head naturally generates. In this way, you will have greater knowledge about paths that you have never walked physically but that you can walk mentally.

Understand your body and the signals it gives

Every blink, salivate, tremble, shiver, every move of our body has a meaning. Seeking to understand them better consequently makes us master them better.

Pay attention to the manifestations you express and meet your needs. Always with balance, respond positively. Hunger, sleep, tiredness are like requests and understanding such requests to fulfill them in the best way is part of mindfulness.

It's no use denying certain circumstances in order to fit into external standards or demands. One of the first steps to getting to know yourself is accepting yourself.

Don't allow external factors to diminish you or make you feel smaller. Know your flaws and strengths and learn to work with them intelligently.

Imposing wild plans and goals can seem interesting and challenging, however it is necessary to think about its consequences. Not performing tasks due to the presence of very large stones in the way can be very disappointing and bring demotivation. A good alternative is to opt for more realistic, simpler and more conscious paths that give you prestige with smaller, but more frequent and satisfying results.



Among other simple changes, listening and contributing to what your body manifests is capable of bringing you a life of fuller and better enjoyed sensations.
