I found inner peace

    Peace invaded my heart...

An excerpt from the song by Gilberto Gil explains what it's like to find inner peace. The feeling invades the heart and creates strong roots. When we are good with ourselves, we don't waste time with bad feelings and don't get shaken in the face of difficulties.

It all starts with the desire to become a better human being. Buddha, creator of Buddhism, believes in five fundamentals that lead to a stage of complete harmony. Want to know how to have the long-awaited peace? Check below and see.

I observe the precept to refrain from destroying living beings

Honor all life forms (human, animal and plant). Don't be carried away by hatred and cultivate compassion daily.

I observe the precept to refrain from taking what is not given to me

Do not steal and work to combat exploitation, social injustice and oppression.

I observe the precept to abstain from sexual misconduct

Do not adopt risky sexual behavior and respect your commitment and that of others.

    I found inner peace

I observe the precept to abstain from false speech

Hostile words and not knowing how to listen cause suffering. Strive to speak kind words and not be harsh even when you need to be harsh. Do not lie even if the truth is cruel and always seek to be an agent of reconciliation.

I observe the precept to abstain from drinking alcoholic beverages that disturb the mind

It relates to the third plea. Abusing alcohol takes away consciousness and leads to many destructive behaviors, such as putting your life at risk by having unprotected sex or having relationships with dangerous people. Excessive drinking also causes suffering to the family who despair to see a loved one trace a path of pain.

You might think that the above concepts will make you holy. None of that! They are just sensible measures that protect your life and those around you. When you understand that you are not alone and that your attitudes reflect on others, it will be easy to put these fundamentals into practice, because you will not even think about them.
