Do you know the book “Women of Taubaté”?

In the midst of so many offers of information today, we are almost certain that modern times are today and, many times, we do not even know magnificent stories of lives that have passed through here, breaking established paradigms and patterns and even innovating the course of life and of the story.

With the book “Mulheres de Taubaté”, by Dimas Oliveira Junior, you will have a collection of extraordinary memories to be inspired by! Dimas is a filmmaker, documentarian and journalist, born in 1958. He is an award-winning artistic director and screenwriter, has directed short and feature films and many works in dramaturgy for some TV stations.

The book presents a bit of the biography of names such as: Chiquinha de Mattos, Elisa Braga (the 1st Spanish aviator), Joana Castilho (the Joaninha), Hebe Camargo, Celly Campello, Olga Tavares (A Santinha de Taubaté), Mother Eulália, Lygia Fumagalli, Maria Cecília Guisard (who, at the age of 13, obtained her 1st “driver's license at the time” in the 20s) and many others who were, without a doubt, pioneering and strong women! The number of women mentioned is around 48 names from different areas: Grande Damas, Artes, Novos Horizontes, Luz da Ribalta, Religious Diversity, Pioneering and Innovation in Education, Pioneers in Letters, Musicals, Fashion and Beauty, Figureiras, etc.

Quoting a little of the preface written by journalist Cláudia Mello: “Mulheres de Taubaté is more than a book, it is a memorial of women's achievements, from a time when attending school and voting were not their prerogatives, until winning the skies, the stages and its deserved space in all areas of society. The book is also an excellent source of research, due to the wealth of dates, names and events”.

With due care not to give too much spoiler, my dear friends, I suggest you get your copy soon, because mine is already guaranteed and with the author's own dedication!
